ReplyDeleteI was told it takes about 8 days to film an episode. But they don't work weekends filming right? Sorry to be nosy filmmaking fascinates me!

ReplyDeleteThey've been known to work the odd Saturday, but as a norm no, they work from Monday to Friday.
It's correct, they need 8 working days to film one episode. All the preparation work (finding exteriors, choosing wardrobe, casting the guest characters, et al...) lasts around 2 weeks prior. Editing (cutting, adding voice-overs, adding music, et al...) takes another week after filming.
Asking questions about their personal lives is being noisy. Asking questions about the show and the jobs, as you've done, is being interested and/or curious. There's a difference; we always try to answer the latter, while the former is highly discouraged in this blog :-)
Thank you Sir Elvan! This lady very much appreciates how gallant you are to answer my question. I have always wondered how long it took to make one episode of Criminal Minds. It is such a well put together show. Well written, brilliantly acted and produced it is definitely my favorite. It's nice to know there are other fans like me out there! Again, my humble thanks!
