  3. Yep. And that is why i stopped buying DVD's and am downloading everything for free :) No commercials or anything.

Serves them right for excluding non-americans. Racists.

  4. Oh crap.I hope I'm wrong I really do,but this looks to be an episode with a lot of gore and violence It wouldn't surprise me if the unsub gets more focus than the team.

It reminds me of that awful Proof episode. They spent way too much time on that unsub. It wasn't necessary for them to focus on him as much as they did.

I have been watching these crime proceduals for many years now.And the focus was ALWAYS on the people trying to solve the crime, not on the criminal themselves.
CM use to be the same way I don't know why they suddenly thought it was a good idea to put more focus on the unsub and less on the team.

I realize some people may like the show better with the unsub having more focus than the team, but I absolutely hate it.And I happen to know a lot of other people hate it too. They, like me, are about ready to give up on the show.We are really hoping season 8 won't be one big disappointment.I'm also hoping Reid isn't shoved into the background for another season. He is about the only reason why I and many other people still watch the show.

  5. To Anonymous,

It isn't a racist thing, it is a market thing. The promo was made for the USA market and is not cleared in other countries for varied reasons; rights to the season 8, not yet rated by other countries broadcasting laws etc...

As for downloading everything and watching without commercials; it is THOSE commercials that pays for shows to be made. No commercial, no Criminal Minds, as simple as that.

This time they have to spend time on this unsub as he will be in a season long arc. They have to establish him, what he does. Hopefully once this is done the focus will shift on the team. Agreed with you on the too much focus on the unsubs and not on the team. We too hope the focus will go back on the team and not so much of the unsubs. We watch first for the team, they are the one that makes us stay glued to our tv set every week :)

  7. I'm willing to give this season the benefit of the doubt, but I am not optimistic as I was at this time last season. I have also learned not to trust Erica Messer. I, too, hope that the majority of this season focuses on the team solving the cases and not on the unsub committing the crimes.

Actually, the main unsub in the first episode is NOT the season long one. The season long one is a copycat. I actually have a grievance with them having a season long unsub. I've always hated the nemesis characters in TV series. It reminds me too much of the Jack character from "The Profiler" TV series-- and that was very poorly handled. It always just seems like too much of a stretch for me and I would rather they focus on more realistic villains.

It seems so far they are wanting to add more shock value and rely on stunt casting rather than intelligent writing and good profiling.

I'm hoping that I'm wrong on this, but I was very disappointed with season 7 and am preparing myself to be disappointed with this season because it seems that the writers have not learned from last season's mistakes.

I didn't like that they showed the unsub sewing someone's mouth shut. That really wasn't necessary. I'm not bothered by gore, but I don't find it entertaining.

I miss when they would suggest the violence rather than show it and have the team talking out what they think happened and not showing too much detail.

Now the writers don't seem to know how to just have the team getting into the heads and it seems that they are much weaker on the profiling.

Rick Dunkle at least said that he thought the unsubs were "the bread and butter of the show" and is all for the stunt casting rather than coming up with good stories.

  11. I saw the promo and it looks good and creepy. I hoping this season will be even BETTER than last season.
