  3. Hotch, Jack and Sean together, plus Beth? Oh, my...!!!

Some of us are going to suffer from HOTchness overload, I can already see us dropping in death faints one after the other... O.O

  5. Am I the only one still not sold on Beth?

I don't know why I'm not sure about her but there's something about her that I don't seem to click with :(

But I am so excited for a Hotch episode, i've enjoyed this season but more Hotch is always appreciated and I'm happy they're addressing the fact he has a brother again, three Hotchners in one episode is going to be goooood!

  6. I'm not sold on Beth either. I just don't trust her. I can't put my finger on it but there's just something about her. Yes it has been nice seeing Hotch smile but..... Anyway I'm looking forward to seeing the three Hotchner's together!

  7. Glad I'm not the only one, she seems like a nice person but there's something about the way she plays Beth that doesnt ... Idk I can't explain it I just don't get the connection between them I guess. I got Garcia and Kevin and even Reid and Maeve's weird little relationship but I don't really click with Beth!

  8. I think I know what's wrong with them. It's too perfect, too ideal, too positive, they are so sweet that they make your teeth ache, you don't see them arguing or disagreeing. Granted after his divorce and everything else Hotch is more invested into maintaining their relationship by being extremely supportive and not being selfish but... Hotch and Haley were realistic because they struggled, they were new parents with a sick baby, Haley (most probably) went out of her way to make a big deal out of his birthday and instead of staying and celebrating it with her Aaron had hopped on a plane and flew to Mexico. We saw the good stuff with them too but because we also saw their struggles we found them more believable because they weren't perfect all the time.

  9. I don't how to explain it, I didn't really like Will until the season 7 finale where we got to see some chemistry between JJ and Will. As for Beth, idk, I don't mind that they have a happy relationship, I think they're kind of cute, it's not that I hate them together it's just I don't feel invested in her yet, maybes that's how I should explain it. Maeve was always going to end badly, that was set up from the beginning that it wasn't going to end well. Kevin was good comic relief and Will was handy when AJ became pregnant. I like Haley as a character, she was someone we loved to disagree with and I liked the storyline it gave Hotch, but with Beth, I haven't got an attachment I suppose which makes me feel indifferent too her. I wouldnt mind if she was never mentioned again like Morgans once upon a time love whateverhernamewas, but as long as it remains as is, that we only see a little bit of her every now and again, that's fine, but it's not as if I am dying for the storyline between them to evolve :/ I know people like Beth and the love lives of all of the characters, I like seeing the team outside of work too, it's just not my favourite aspect of the show.

  10. Also forgot to mention, that Hotch time must be completely different to normal peoples time. The amount of jobs he has had alone blows my mind but now he manages to shuffle back and forth from New York while being a single dad and working a demanding job, but couldn't find the time during a case to be at his wife's side when she went into labour and could only take a day off to make sure his son was fine with the divorce. not supposed to be a criticism just I wish I had Hotchs time management skills :/

  11. Let's not forget that Hotch wouldn't have pulled a lot of things he's pulling without having Haley's sister, Jessica as support and she's got to be a huge one in everything, even and I think most especial when it comes to his relationship with Beth (I don't think that his relationship with Beth would have lasted as long as it does if Jessica wasn't supporting their relationship)

  12. I guess you're right, if not for Jessica Hotch would probably not been able to return to the BAU. Also, it probably is because everything that we've seen of Hotch/Beth has been easy and happy, she relocates... Fair enough we'll commute... I'd rather see Hotchs brother again in relation to Hotch's past or delving into their relationship rathe than it being about a case or having Beth involved, but I guess we'll have to wait and see, it might be a really great episode and Beth might be kept to a minimum...

  13. To my surprise, I'm very much in love with Beth. I love how Bellamy Young portrayed her. Bright and joyful and full of life. I can easily see why Hotch and Jack fell in love with her. I feel their progress is as natural as they can, considering their airing time. Writers are doing very good job developing their relationship. I'm looking forward to see how it goes!

  14. I love Beth, I love Hotch with Beth and I love Hotch to be happy, with or without Beth (preferably with) but I want their relationship to be a little more realistic and by realistic I mean not 100% perfect all the time. Regardless of whatever or not you liked the idea of Reid and Maeve together she had no problem with telling him no - when he asked her to let him and his team help her find her stalker because she was so hellbent on not wanting to endanger him, in retrospect it was a bad idea because if she let him it wouldn't have ended how it ended - nevertheless her decision to stand up to him made them equals whereas Hotch and Beth are so hellbent on making it work that they make you want them to say no just to make sure that they're capable of doing so.

  15. so just a major fansquee after seeing this post!

  16. My problem with Beth's character is that she's always smiling. Even when she was training with Hotch, she had a grin on her face while running. I understand (been there), that when you first start dating you smile a lot to give a good impression, but it makes her appear so two-dimensional.

Another thing that has bothered me was her appearance when Hotch showed up at her door for the surprise Valentine's Day date. She was beautifully dressed and her hair and makeup were perfect. Seriously, how many ladies lounge around like that. I would have answered the door in an old Grateful Dead tee-shirt and jeans. Oh well, I guess that was to make their relationship appear more fairy tale like.

  17. I think the writers and TG just want Hotch to have a happy moment in his life after Foyet drama, but I do hope they show him and Beth struggling with at least one part of the relationship or something to make it seem like they're not 100% perfect for each other. It is Hotchs first proper relationship since his divorce, you would have thought there would be more uncertainty on his side. I agree with everyone who said Beth is just too happy and the relationship is just too easy, I tend not to like the relationships the characters are in with their other halfs, especially when the storyline takes away something from the episode. I don't usually like those insights when they're bookends to a case as it feels like the writers decided they wanted to stick a happy ending on rather than integrate it in to the storyline. They handled Haley great in the early seasons, she wasn't in every episode but when she was it felt right and we saw Hotch struggle with his decisions or be effected by the case and home life, but now it just feels like the writers here some fans want to see a love life and rather than coming up with something special they just plop something in. But then again, probably no one is going to be good for any of our characters so there's just no point :p

  18. Love Criminal Minds, but I am tired of seeing quality of writing suffering so attention can be focused on these "special moments".The ones with the Hotch and Beth characters are particularly so forced they are painful to watch. The scripts with Haley were not this way. The acting was much better.Perhaps the powers that be can simply infer of a continuing relationship. I for one do not wish to see this Beth character anymore. Way too phony
Leave Bellamy on Scandal and be done with her. She's really not a very good actor.

  19. I don't like her, I mean, when the show start every characters had their lives. Hotch was with Haley since high school, and was together for a long time and after her her death, two years later, he run in the park and by a miracle Beth followed him and start asking him if he's in the FBI ? It's so easy for me and doesn't make sense, I don't feel her like a the perfect girlfriend for Hotch...

  20. I totally agree, I don't think we'd be completely happy with whoever they paired Hotch with but Beth's introduction was odd and again, where does Hotch find the time to practice for a marathon on top of everything else?

I want the characters to have happy moments in their lives but I would rather see other aspects of their lives outside the BAU not just love life's. I want to know their families, their histories, I want to see how the job affects their everyday lives and hear how they deal with what they see. You would have thought a few of them would be in therapy, you'd have thought a couple of them would meet up for breakfasts and dinners or drinks after work, I know we hear about that stuff but I'd rather see those activities than see Reid talking on a pay phone to a girl we never really got to know. I like it when the team has conflicts and I'd have liked to see conflicts played out rather than being swept under the rug. I miss bitchy Strauss and I miss drill sergeant Hotch. I like seeing snippets of the teams personal lives but I'd like to see the team together out of work more than Beth, Will, Maeve, Sam/Kevin and whoever else there has been! I love/hate complaining because I enjoy the show there's just so many things I would also enjoy to watch on the show...

  21. Thank you to be agree, it's not because I don't like Bellamy or because of jealousy but it's to easy to start a relation with a person who you met in a park. So if tomorrow I'll run and meet a guy I will immediately start something with him? It's... I don't realy know what I would like to say, or explain because a lot of people find their relation 'normal' but for me it's not, I don't think she's the unsub just that we don't need to see a new love story we don't see Will a lot, and Maeve was killed, Derek have no one in his personal life...

  22. I know their love lives are only mentioned every so often, but Hotchs main personal arc for the last two seasons have been about his personal arc, I know he has another arc coming up, I just hope they don't make it about Beth, or has Sean saying "she so right for you, totally what you need blah blah" I would love for the wroters to follow up on other things in their characters lives. Like what happened to JJs dad and what's her sisters name? Was Hotch abused and how has he had so many careers? Does Garccia have loads of brothers or is she an only child? I want to hear Rossi tell some stories about the good old days and make references to old profilers. I want Morgan to stop saying baby girl and hear about his time as a police officer, again how old is supposed to be and how many jobs has he had? Reid and Blake I don't really care about but I might like to hear about their teaching and doctorates etc... I have a lot things that need answering before they give me other halfs that are either going to be phased out or don't like...

  23. Agree. I don't think it's important for the show, and for us to see new love story, Criminal Minds talking about serial killer we don't care about other things, okay maybe more about their family like Reid's mum, or Morgan and Buford. I don't think the relation between Hotch and Beth doesn't show us the reality of things even if a months have passed, it's so quickly...

    ReplyDelete
  24. Beth is fine for now but I don't think I'd want them to develop their relationship anymore than they have done. I find it strange that we only know the bare minimum for all of the characters background and families other than Reid and Morgan after nearly nine seasons. We know quite a lot about Reid's past and we've even met extended family members of Morgan, I know we know JJ had a mom and sister, Hotch has his brother and Garcia may or may not have brothers, Rossi went back to his hometown and we've met an ex wife but compared to Reid and Morgans background we know very little about everyone's history.

As for the teams love lives, I don't think it particularly adds anything to their characters anymore, sure it's cute to see a wedding or a date or something but none of those stuff really appeals.

  25. That's true, I prefer to know something about their 'characters background' I just read that CBS said about the finale of the season 8 will be dramatic uhmm

  26. I hope we get a season 4 dramatic finale, that was probably the best one they've done so far!
