  1. Awww! I can't begrudge her decision, but I'm sad. It would have been nice for the team to stay together until the end. Well, I hope they don't kill her. No, I'm not hoping or expecting another turn around, but even if I can't see them, I like thinking of characters I like still existing off screen. The only thing that concerns me on that front is it's hard to believe Prentiss would choose to leave again. But, I hope they find a way to make her go because she wants to, on her feet, with regrets for leaving her family behind but not because she was either killed or fired. Oh, well. I'm disappointed, but I wish her well.

And, really? This isn't directed to the Round Table. But, to the ones that broke the news. Couldn't it have waited until tomorrow? It's sad whenever it's announced, but we'd have one episode to enjoy and it would be a week for the most immediate shock to be over before the next one.

  3. Not really shocking. She made it pretty clear that she was unhappy that she had to come back so I kind of expected her to call it quits once her contract was up. I wish her well and I think the show will be fine. The cast is too large and they've got JJ as a profiler now so the token female profiler role has already been filled. Best of luck PB! : )

  4. I agree with sf81387.
I'm glad Paget came back after the big mess that was season 6, but she made it very clear that she didn't have the choice and that she would have prefered to do some other stuff. So yes, I'm sad that she's leaving, but the news isn't that much of a shocker...
Anyway, I wish Paget all the best for the future, and I thank her for her fantastic job on Criminal Minds !! :-)

  5. Awwww...well I can't say I blame her, not after everything that happened. I know I'll miss her and Emily on the show. But I wish her well and I'll definitely check on what ever work she does in the future. Heck, I'm already looking into the show she had on Showtime.

OK, things I must say to TPTB:

    1) Not dead, please. Transferred, another department, another agency, Declain needs her, something, anything but dead. I don't think anyone could handle dead again.

    2) Suck it up and say good-bye to Reid to his face. No leaving notes or passing on messages, he's had quite enough of that. This time he gets a proper good-bye.

    3) Please remember that BAU is usually a slot for experienced agents. No cadets this time. I hate the term "older actress", but someone over 30 who can support yards of juicy good backstory.

Speculation? Someone fairly older, old enough to have helped Rossi create the need for those fraternization rules. Might be a bit soap opera, but in very small doses my be interesting. My opinion only, of course.

Anyway, good luck. I know you can handle it, and I do with Ms. Brewster all the best.

Love all that you have written especially about reid, Emily knows Reid has abandonmments issues so she would never leave without saying goodbye face to face.

As for a new agent if they want to get someone please no cadet! get a season agent from another department.

  7. Just to clarify, I don't consider over 30 to be an "older" actress. In my opinion I don't think they should go younger, as in Seaver, because someone in their 20's simply would not have the experience for the BAU. If I'm counting on my fingers right Morgan, Emily, Elle and even Hotch would have started in their 30's sometime. JJ may have started younger, but she started as a media liaison, not a profiler. And Reid is....well...Reid.

I'd really love to see a woman over 50 in that role, someone bringing tons of experience to the table and all the backstory that could come with that. Maybe someone who got "mommy tracked" early in her career and had to fight her way back to the top. Marianne Jean-Baptiste and Alfre Woodard are two names that immediately come to mind as examples.

Granted this is all just my opinion, your mileage may vary.

Also, sorry about the odd log-in name, I don't know why it's doing that,

  8. I will always love Paget and support her! It's my hope she lands her own comedy-where she can shine-on a network that will give her the support and respect she deserves. She is so amazingly talented, funny, beautiful and a true class-act! Although I will miss seeing Emily Prentiss on my TV Wednesday nights, I hope we will get another amazing PB character to love!

  9. I am so sad to hear this news... I will miss her so much on CM. I wish her the best and I truly hope she gets a new job right away otherwise we will not see her on TV for some time which would hurt so bad. Love you Paget!

  10. I'm so happy for Paget, but of course sad for CM. I just really hope Emily gets to leave happily and that SOMEONE at least MENTIONS Declan. I would love it if she left to raise him, but I just find it off that Emily gave up two lives for him and he doesn't even get mentioned.

  11. Sad news, but I kind of expected, so I'm surprisingly OK with this. I support her decision and hope she lands a comedy SOON, because she is amazing on them.

And I'll keep on supporting Criminal Minds, because it's still my favorite show and because I think this time it will be fine, it's not the same as last year, this time she wants to go and the show can prepare for her exit, which I hope is a happy one. And finally, I wish they don't bring in anyone new. I think CM can actually do great with just 6, so that everybody can have more screen time.

    Best of luck for Paget.
