Is this where people are supposed to post their thoughts on the episode?? Are you guys affiliated with CMF? I'm afraid to post over there, I think they hate me. :( I'm not a troublemaker, I promise. :(
ReplyDeleteWe are not affiliated to CMF in any way. A review about the episode will be posted in the next couple of days so please, feel free to post your thoughts dear. They are always welcome. ;-)
ReplyDeleteOk, thanks!! :) I apologize ahead of time for my snarky sense of humor and my tendency to ramble. :(
ReplyDeleteI loved this episode!! Our team is back! Yay! From the preview I was afraid it was going to be a shoot 'em up type and was happy to see it wasn't. I totally remember that Cary Staynor(sp?) case they mentioned. It made me so creeped out at hotels. =X He was working as a handyman at a hotel and used the ruse that he had to fix a leak to gain entrance. After loading his victims in his car he made it look like they had left the hotel on their own, even going as far as wetting towels and leaving them on the bathroom floor to make it look like they had taken showers!! So for a while it was just a missing persons case!! Until one of the victim's Driver's License and bank card? turned up somewhere I think. His subsequent killings weren't as well-planned, I guess you could say he started devolving, and were much sloppier. I think they got suspicious of him because his last victim fought back which left lots of clues?? I can't remember if she got away or not. Then he didn't show up at work and they finally tracked him down at a nudist colony. I know, right, like WTH crazy dude. LOL! If I remember correctly, the FBI agent got Staynor talking and to confess by building rapport and sympathy with him! Way to go, FBI dude!! Yeah!!!
Anyways, what I liked about the episode: Suspenseful, humor, lots of our team (especially Hotch), great twist in who unsub was. I liked how Hotch got to show what a quick thinker & how smart he is. Wow, TG is great... I could just see the wheels turning in Hotch's mind - how was he able to convey that?? Wow, LOL!! Liked Morgan clotheslining the guy lol. Liked how Prentiss and Morgan fought - in real life you aren't always nicey-nice; conflicts will and do arise every now and then. Liked it when the sheriff said she wants a Garcia as her next gift. Haha! Loved Rossi's "c*cky little b*stard" line and the way Joe-Dizzle delivered it LOL. I also had to chuckle when they found the address to the factory/farm. Like there's going to be a map/directions to the middle of the desert. "Drive 105.2 miles until you see a cactus in the shape of a Y then turn left at the 3rd sand dune..." LOL! :)
The scene between the sheriff and unsub was terrific! I really liked her and was sad she unded up being killed. I also liked that the denouement was on the ground instead of on the plane; I thought it was a nice way to change it up a little. Loved loved LOVED Hotch and Rossi tag-teaming together. Squeeeee!!!! :D
ReplyDeleteA few fans have expressed concern over the budget thing. Maybe it's not going to lead to anything. Maybe it was just the writer trying to make the episode in line with the current times/economic problems right now. Every company I know, and most families I know, are tightening their belts: cutting corners, implementing hiring freezes, no more bonuses, I even know of one company whose employees are taking a paycut (and they are happy to have that instead of the other option which is people getting axed), a rise in burglary and theft as people start to get desperate (at least in my area), etc. Anyway, all that to say I am hoping it was just that and not because of any of the cast getting axed. Why mess with what works? CBS, I sure hope you appreciate and take care of ALL of your CM team (writers, actors, crew, etc.)!!!
Also to any fans that felt there were no "why's" to the unsub here are my thoughts: The stressor was when the Sheriff came in and took over, making the unsub feel displaced and resent her. The wen is "for a long time" as the sheriff said. I think?? the why was his father was killed in the factory and he couldn't deal/adjust and ended up a loner who got warped??
I don't know if any CM/CBS peeps read this blog too, but just in case:
Dear Victor De Jesus,
?Es verdad que esta era su primera vez? Si es verdad, fue muy bueno para su primera vez y espero ver mas de su escritura! Gracias por este.... err, ummm..... episode-o??? LOL (ele-o-ele) haha, I know.... I'm such a dork! :)
Thank you for that great posting CheetoBreath! You are always welcome to give your opinion ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks! :D I wish more people would post here, it's a really cool blog :) I felt bad that I remembered the bad guy's name but not the names of the good guys who caught him (Dude, that ain't right!! LOL) so I looked them up. These are the unsung, real-life heroes who caught Cary Stayner:
ReplyDeleteFBI Special Agent in charge of investigation: James Maddock
FBI Special Agent who got Stayner to open up and confess: Jeffrey Rinek
FBI Special Agent (press guy? not sure what his role was): Nick Rossi
Hey, I wonder if Joe Mantegna's character David Rossi is a throwback to Mr. Nick Rossi. ?? :)
If you would like to send a letter/card of thanks/encouragement to those folks (or a general one):

ReplyDeleteHey we all have are "Alzaheimer" moments, don't worry ;) Part of Rossi's character, was based on the first witness, a police officer, who appeared on OJ Simpson's trial. JM was impress with him and thought that one day he would have a character named like him and with a similar personal background. Also, his character was based on John E. Douglas a well renowned agent of the FBI. Here is his website http://www.johndouglasmindhunter.com/home.php
ReplyDeleteThank's for the info CheetoBreath and for your great postings! :D
