  1. Ok.I'm going to watch this one again...as there were so many little nuances to remember everything..
But, just off the top.... I actually liked the unsub development and twists that Sharon took us on... I liked how it turned into a cat and mouse chase between Unsub and BAU to get to Rebecca....
    The ending twist... was WOW...

Hotch and Rossi were just Adorable.... Hotch is best wingman ever... and nice to see him comfortable saying he's got a few things up his sleeve..

Over all... this episode gets A++

  2. I understand I'm going to get disagreements on this but I feel this season is being dominated by unsub screen time. Some of us don't like knowing who the unsub is right off the bat. I can honestly say CM is one of my favorite shows but if episodes continue to be unsub dominate I might reconsider what I watch on Wednesdays. I hope the rest of the episodes aren't dominantly unsub

    1. Kayla... I agree 100% with you... BUT with regard to this episode only... Sharon to me did and excellent job of showing the unsub in a unique way.... I loved watching the cat and mouse chase with all the profiling and team work... :)

    2. Kayla, You certainly won't get any disagreement from me.Because I also feel there has been way too much emphasis put on the unsubs this season.Sadly though since Erica Messer took over the running of this show this isn't the first season I have felt this way about it.

    3. well writing episode, great Hotch/Rossi scenes moments. Awesome music. But i didn't feel much tension, deep psychology, profiling....and i can read Mary again complaning about Garcia magic computer...i barely see her in this episode , still she was great, just a good proesional, what do u expect from her? to find nothing? spending hours days find some info? sorry that would make her looking like a bad IT, still yes if she didn't find the info so quick she might have more screem time, and i could se more of her job and procedures, more of her "thinking"....

  3. Wow, we got more than a passing glimpse of Reid, Hotchner and Rossi. Minimal JJ/Morgan which floats my boat and nice Kate. I really enjoyed this episode. I feel like they need to give Sharon the reins as I get the feeling she is the only writer who really gets this show anymore. Loved the Jazz club scene.
    Solid A

  4. All around excellent episode!

Yes we had lots of unsub and saw him at the start of the episode but the way the episode was build we had lots of the team doing what they do best, profile the unsub!

Sharon Lee Watson manage what some writers struggle with; writing a well balanced episode between the need to show the unsub and making the unsub interesting without cheating us the viewers from having the team work the case and do what we love to see them do; profile.

Very good casting with the guests cast.

Love that the unsub was complicated and what you saw was not all that black and white. There was a twist at the end about what his relationship with Amelia Porter was. Pretty shocking one.

LOVE all the Hotch and Rossi's scenes. First the way they dealt with Hotch and Beth breakup was good, yes Hotch would not stand in her way when it came to career advancement.

The scene at the club was just awesome! Hotch is so adorable when he is a bit shy! Gotta love the reaction of Dave and Aaron being profiled by the ladies! Oh and on purely shallow level, LOVE Hotch voice in the scene with the singer's friend! Very hot voice Hotch! :D

I will rewatch that bar scene often, that is how much I liked it! :D

Will rewatch, too many nuances and things happening, need to rewatch to get it all in but loved the episode and after a first watch I give it a 9/10!

  5. I really enjoyed the episode the ending was cute and there was the perfect amount of each team member but I think that they need to get reid a girlfriend too and kids like he wants so I give this episode A++++++ but wait the takedown was sad though and that song got to me cause I've been having a tough time lately cause my grandma died like 7 years ago and I miss her and it's been tough lately and then my uncle died on thanksgiving and that song just made me sob

    1. I'm sorry about your grandmother. My cousin just passed away (two days after my moms birthday) and my grandpa passed away a month ago (a week before his birthday). I react to certain songs and little things like that too

  6. I too, will watch this one again. But I don't need to do that this time to leave my comments.

Kayla, I'm right there with you about seeing the unsub too early. However, for me, that was the genius of Sharon's writing with this episode. The unsub part was wrote in retrospect. It told the story of how we as viewers got to the final point when he said "Hello Amelia." And honestly, I shivered. Because I knew it was going to spiral downhill from there and fast.

And in between those retrospect scenes, we got the team doing their d*mn job!!!!! *sorry CMRT mods* They worked the profile. Sharon understands what the premise of this show is all about. I don't know what Sharon puts in her coffee but I hope she starts sharing it in the Writer's Room.

And oooooooohhhhhhhhh my fangirl Hotch and Rossi heart. *takes heart meds* The opening one with Dave and Aaron was another classic in Hotch's office. And I love Dave profiling the trip Hotch took Jack on to Orlando. And OMG!!! Hotch dressed casual, smiling, dimply and get slightly Hotch embarrassed was wonderful. Since Morgan is off the market, Dave chose a great wingman. But please; the other lady was nice. But no, no, no; don't let her be the new match for Hotch. I really liked Beth; but not this lady.

I'm a huge baseball fan. Sharon is hitting 2 or 2 this season. Or on Rockie's grading scale, she's on the A Honor Roll going into the holiday hiatus.

Speaking of that, I now go to my corner and cry that we don't get new episodes until Jan. 14. At least it's not seven weeks. But I'm still gonna cry.

    Happy Holidays all! :D

  7. Ok... going to throw this out there just because I thought it was a wonderful scene... Did anyone else think that when Rossi asks Hotch about 'online dating' and Hotch's subsequent eyeroll that JM/TG and even Sharon for writing it were poking fun at what happened with TG?????

I was glad to see him be able to do it.. and apparently TG is in a much better place personally this last year then he has been in the past! #GoTG #GoHotch

  8. I pretty much loved almost everything about this episode except for times when JJ and Reid's lines should have been switched, where Reid asks a question and JJ amswers--really, just no. Otherwise, it was a great episode and I knew it would be because it was Sharon Lee Watson

  9. I thought it was a good episode, certainly better then the last two. I do have to share my one big complaint though. I'm a stickler for continuity and it bothered me that the niece's sweater was stained and dirty when they met the hikers on the way to Amelia's cabin, but when they arrived it was clean again.

Oh well ... it was still good.

  10. I am in two minds about this one so will have to watch it again and really think about it. It was for sure the unsub show from the start which normally I am not keen on. However, SLW writes well and writes the team well and I was engaged with the story throughout even though I twigged well before the end that Amelia Porter wasn't the real monster in the original crime. And did I see Garcia being asked to find 40 year old women who recently moved to the area which of course she did in the click of a magic computer button? But the team were all used well and thank heavens we saw a decent amount of Reid for a change. As for the bookends, I am still bothered by them although they were amusing and it was nice to see a relaxed Hotch. I hated the flat and boring Beth with a vengeance and whoop de do that she is gone but as they were allegedly so in love and we had to endure the ghastly Route 66 emphasising that fact, Hotch seemed far too blasé, cold and matter of fact about the break up. Very out of character. But I was engaged throughout despite all my issues so I will give it a solid B for now.

  11. FINALLY!
This was an awesome episode. Very good team balance, great plot, good actors, and the twist at the end was suprising. The ending was touching (I'm talking about Rebecca hugging her brother at the hospital, not the jazz scene.)I alsmost cried a bit.
It may seem like it dosen't matter much, but the music really made the final touch.
I am hoping that the other writers start to learn from SLW. She knows this show.
To ease my impatience, I'm going to watch season 1 until the next episode airs.
    Happy christmas fellow CM-fans!

  12. this wasn't a bad episode, but not what i expect from a criminal minds, i miss more profiling...more tension...more study of a unsurb psycho mind more than his motivations. Great music, great scenes Hotch /Rossi still....lack of suspense

    1. I do kind of agree with you, becuase to me it is never enough profiling. I love studying and understanding sick minds, that was why I started to watch this show in the first place, and that's what the earlier seasons is about, but that has changed a lot these last couple of years, but in my opinion, in comparison to the rest of season 10's episodes I think this one was the best in a really long time.

    2. Liv000859, kind of agree with you, but isn't my favorite episode at all, it was ok,

  13. Carroll maybe watch it again. It had twists and turns and in spite of knowing who the unsub was, you didn't really know who the unsub was.

I have to add that Reid's hair was in his mouth at one scene. Weasel hair as it is known at my house now.

    1. Haha you are funny! But I don't mind his weasel hair--it somehow works for MGG, my opinion only! :)

    2. I love his mad hair as well. It really works for him as you say!

    3. Reid's hair in his mouth was the highlight of the episode for me.

I think of Frank Zappa's "Weasels Ripped My Flesh" whenever you guys do the weasels whipped Reid's hair. Lucky weasels...

  14. that was interesting zaryna... the initial confusion and the conclusion....but that isn't the point....the point is that i miss .. more deep studying psycho minds, more than just the storyline..more tension...

    1. Carrroll, I don't understand what you are looking for either... There was a great deal of profiling. Don't forget this story was told 'after' it all happened... And the balance of the team, and how they communicated their ideas to each other and the pairings was spot on. This was literally a cat and mouse chase....and I thought that concept was very suspenseful.

  15. I don't get then your comment on the lack of suspense. I thought there was plenty of suspense given the plot twists.

  16. just watch from season 1 to season 7 and you may understand what i mean and some season 8 episodes

    1. Carrroll I have seen every episode multiple times.. and sadly I still don't know what you are getting at... Great episodes like Identity, and Omnivore, The Fox, Outfoxed, Lesson Learned, Amplification, Tabula Rosa, Hopeless etc.... Profiling was all about finding out 'why' the unsub was doing what he was doing. And once they figured the why, they often figured out the how, where, when and finally the who.... Maybe if you could give examples that would help us or at least me understand better.?

    2. I have seen every episode 1-7 at least twice and I have no idea what your point is.

    3. watch the episodes written in previous seasons by Jay Beattie & Dan Dworkin, Holly Harold, Simon Mirren, Ed Bernero, Chris Mundy, Rick Dundle Erica Messer (both in previous seasons), Jim Clemente.... and you may understand what i mean,

    4. Again, I have seen every episode and remain unenlightened as to your point. Can you explain your point with some detail rather than simply repeating that we should watch (which we have) and then we will see (which we don't).

    5. Carrroll.... Most of those writers you mentioned wrote the episodes that I highlighted which were similar to Amelia Porter. I'm sorry, but I just don't understand what you're trying to say. As Zayrina said can you give us specifics? Like what sort of studying the psycho's mind? I have to say "No Way Out" was just like Amelia Porter as it was Jason going over with Frank how the team found him... what we saw in the episode had already happened by the time we see Frank/Jason/Morgan in the diner.

  17. BTW this was a great episode--but it was VERY CONFUSING! I hope when CMRT does the review, they explain it well, because after two watchings, I'm still not sure that I completely understand the episode.

  18. I think carrroll means unsubs like the season 8 season long unsub where we don't know who the unsub(s) is/are until near the end of the episode.
