  1. Right off jump street I'm going to say THIS Episode should have been 200....

Sharon lee Watson did an AMAZING job, and the Cast,Crew and Director brought her vision to life flawlessly...

So many great scenes... The TEAM was amazing... REID, in explaining how the plane broke apart... Just chilling.. .the tension waiting for the fate of IA61.... heart stopping! Hotch slowing down unsub... then taking him out... priceless...

This episode in my book is 20 out of 10

  2. One of my favorite episodes since the beginning.

Normally I mind emphasis on a new character so soon and stuff but I don't think Kate's story was all that prominent but I definitely felt for her.

I liked how they went back to how they used to show the profiles back in the earlier seasons, imposing a character into the scene of the crime and various other backgrounds.

I have to say, as much as I loved Blake, Kate is fitting in muh quicker and seamlessly.

Not to mention the team acted as a team and the case, sad as to was, geatefully ended in a much better place than were it started with the first crash.

    1. i like this episode, but it not one of my favorite, I grew up watching this show,.first thought it was anoter cop serie...i remember reluctantly watching it, but then i saw this stranger weird interesting character: who is this blond girl? she is not a cop... she is like Rossi says: she is different...amusing... I felt in love with her , she had my attention, then i started loving the entire cast and the stories...amazing serie, and Garcia was the one who "called me", and made me love this show.

  3. What can I say, this episode was PERFECT! Lots of teamwork, we got to see the unsub at the end only so we were left guessing who he was and why he was doing it. We got to watch and listen to the team profile the unsub, go from one scenario to another. The team balance was great, no one was made to 'dissapear' , everyone had something interesting to bring.

Have to say the airplanes scenes were just great and scary! When those planes would pitch downward I felt dizzy! I felt so scared for the people on those planes!

have to give a big kudos to the crew and those who did build the crash site set, it look very real. also, the work that was done on the live feed with journalist at the sites looks very real too. Excellent work from all involved.

So despite CBS best effort to spoil that episode with a promo that gave too much, I still enjoyed the episode 100%

Usually I have a what was good and bad with an episode but not tonight, it is all VERY positive!

The writer of this episode Sharon Lee Watson did an amazing work in writing an episode that is now in my top three of all time best episode, number 1 is '100' and my #2 use to be 'tabula rasa' but now it is my number 3 after 'A Thousand suns' :D

I'll give this episode a 10/10! excellent work from everyone involved in CM on this episode! Please keep them coming CM cast, writers and crew!

  5. What a breath of fresh air this episode was. I think Sharon did an excellent job of balancing screen time. I loved that she allowed Reid to be the one to figure out what it was that bought the plane down.
I especially loved that there wasn't a lot of Garcia. I needed a break from her after that ridiculous subplot they gave her in last week's episode. A bit surprised but none the less quite pleased that JJ was left out of the initial take down of the unsub.

    1. Having worked in the Flight Training and Flight Department at FedEx for 15 years before I retired, I recognized most of what was happening on the planes and I was holding my breath almost the entire episode. As someone said above, the episode should have been the 200th episode, it showed all the team working together, it showed Reid and Kate bonding, It showed the team working with other government agencies, it just flowed seamlessly, thanks to everyone who worked on the episode.

Even Garcia didn't do her spouting nonsense and inappropriate comments with Morgan. They actually acted like real people.

And, even SuperNinjaJJ toned her skills down tonight...it just seemed that this episode couldn't have been better, and I haven't said this about an episode in a LONG time.

Congratulations to the cast and crew of my favorite show!!!

    2. i wish Garcia could travel more often with the team like in previos episodes (seasons) and has more relation with the rest of the team. Wonderful actress

    3. Carrroll - Garcia has only traveled with the team a few times in 10 yrs... I believe 8 times in total since S1.... 1. Revelations 2. And Back 3. Exit Wounds 4. Compromising Positions 5. Reflections of Desire (called in from Qauntico but was local case anyway, so didn't really travel with them) 6. Wheels on the Bus was same thing, local case but she was in field with them 7. The Black Queen 8. Demons. She is the 'tech analyst' and therefore needs to remain in Quantico... I used to really like Garcia, but last couple of season's the writers have made her a Caricature of what she originally was... I know people like that, but for me she is too over the top now and not plausible working in FBI now.

    4. Barbara, I want to continue to love Garcia but the writers are holding her back. Such a good actress. I was shocked when Google said Kirsten is 42! One thing is for sure, out of 7 billion people in the world, Garcia is the only one who can get away with the babble and icks and ews with Aaron. He wouldn't tolerate that from anyone else, and that endears him to me even more, I'll stop now with my thing for Aaron/TG. Maybe if the show weren't ten years old, her lack of growth and maturity would be easier to accept. I love her kindness and sensitivity, the fact that she has not become jaded with her work. But the character has become a one-trick pony. Let her go and grow!

    5. I agree with you absolutely J Grey.... One thing that annoys me to "NO" end is that Morgan and Garcia are the 'lovechildren' of CM.... Except that people forget that in Tabula Rosa, Morgan didn't even know who she was in the BAU... Heck he called her "Gomez"... and then in the Black Queen they lessened Hotch importance on hiring her by having 'Morgan" in the past scene about when she was 'caught' by the FBI! Such a blatant rewrite of cannon has made me think she's better off closed away in her lair with her trolls.... And to play her like 'her super computer skills' can solve any case so why bother with the team at all, like they did last season irks me to no end.

It's these divergences from already established cannon for the characters that makes me scratch my head and at times dislike them.

    6. I have a couple of pet peeves, but that can be a slippery slope. My peeves annoy me to no end, so I empathize. Morgan and Garcia made me ho hum for the most part, with the exception of Morgan's hatefulness toward her regarding her death row journey, but I'm the lone wolf in that opinion. I think Aaron said he chose Garcia because she wrote her resume on hand made pink stationery and that was sweet. I like watching Garcia's computer work, knowing it's TV-land. But what gets me is that Garcia suffered the loss of her parents when they were out looking for her and must have a boatload of guilt, but this little girl ick act shows no growth since the tragedy. I want to see her woman-up, retain her sensitivity, but act like a grown woman. Oh, the trolls…don't remind me…On the other hand, I loved this episode.

  6. Two words: Totally Amazing. THAT was the Criminal Minds I know and love.

I know the writers are trying to give Kate some background to catch up with the rest of the characters; so this episode was perfect for that. It fit in perfectly without being over-bearing.

There were so many positives with this episode. The total team work from start to finish. No disappearing acts by any of the characters. Reid profiling the "crime scene" like episodes of old. Sharon Lee Watson used that in last year's episode "Final Shot" and she perfectly pulled it out here again. My only tiny little complaint goes to Director Rob Bailey. NOT A BUNNY!! :)

I loved the end! I was sitting on the edge of my chair awaiting the fate of flight IA61. It reminded me of one of my favorite scenes from Apollo 13.

And as CMRT pointed out, the set crew should get raises for re-creating the crash site. This episode was a major win for every department of the crew!

Congrats to Sharon, the crew and the cast for giving this CM fan a fantastic episode.

    Rockie's grade: A+

  7. Unfortunately some of my online friends found the story line rather implausible. I told them while I understand why they may feel that way, if that was indeed the case, I was more more than willing to overlook it. Because unlike "200" which was basically one big JJ/Cruz fest with cameo appearances by some of the other long time team members, the team as a whole was used fairly well in this episode.

  8. I enjoyed it despite some of the flaws in the plot line. Sharon Lee Watson knows how to write the team and especially she can write for Reid sensibly. I loved that it was a team episode and they all worked together well to work out the unsub. I liked all the false leads. I thought JLH and MGG worked well together. I liked that JJ was toned right down, I loved the return to the green screen walk through - SLW did that last season as well in one of the best episodes of S9.I loved that Hotch was at number ten on the Hotch scale - although a bit alarmed that he once again shot an unsub dead. He really is piling them up lately! Garcia annoyed me a little as she was still a bit too flippant talking to the team given the scale of the death toll. Yes this is one to watch again. Even though it was predictable that the plane would land safely, they still managed to inject tension and excitement. Good job CM. Oh and of course, MGG looked mighty fine in it!

  9. People seem to complain a lot about Garcia lately, about how she's so annoying.. I don't get it.. Garcia is the light in the horror, she's hysterically funny. She's the fun part and the lovely part of the episodes. And I absolutely love the way Morgan and Garcia talk to eachother. Yes, it's unprofessional, but it's extremely funny, and kind of nice...

    1. This is very sad, Totally agree, she turns on the light every episode. She is perky, funny, nice, proffesional. She is one of my favorite character, I love her she isn't a flat and boring character. But I wish she moderate a litte be her manerins, that way picky people quite complaining. LOver HER and enjoy Morgan and Garcia relation, unprofesional..?.this is a show not a documentary, I love CM because the characters aren't Robots and the stories are very interesting, Drama, funny scenes are always welcome. Love Garcia

    2. I too like Garcia, she is funny and at time funny is much needed, there a lot of scary and gory stuff those profilers have to deal with and Garcia often funny comments are welcomed relief. As for her flirtation with Morgan, I never minded, yes probably if they were real FBI agents this would not be tolerated but it is a TV show and it also need to be entertaining. My only problem with Garcia, well the writers really, is they too often use her to find unsubs.

      Delete
    3. using garcia to find the unsub is great: she uses the tecnology and the info to locate everything

      Delete
    4. Carrroll, but Garcia isn't the BAU and the show is about the BAU, the profiling, and how they discover through psychological analysis who the unsub is. If all they needed were some little bit of facts and Garcia could 'catch' them all, the show would be boring. She is just another assest the BAU has at it's disposal... She shouldn't be two steps ahead of the 'team'.

      Delete
    5. i don't think she is two steps ahead of the team at all.She is part of a team job I love the episodes when the team uses the phychological analysis and the tecnology to discover the unsurb past story, etc etc, in some episodes : Garcia with the help of Reid's brillant min find out about the unsurb, but lately she is alone at the office, and she never discovers the unsub by herself, they all participates doing that

    6. I do like Garcia, or I liked her better before last year. Last season there was too much JJ/Morgan/Garcia (saving the day) and not nearly enough Hotch/Rossi/Reid/Blake... I didn't like how the writers literally changed show 'cannon' in order to show character growth. So far this season I am happy to see that the writer's have 'heard' fans complaints and are returning to a strong 'team' presence and not so much of individuals. And characters aren't 'disappearing' as they did last season..

    7. i agree about JJ/Morgan last season, but disagree about Garcia, I love the team, but no so much pairing same people . How about Hotch/rossi Garcia/reid or even jj/callahan/Garcia, and Reid/Morgan?? i mean i don't enjoy watching same characters pairing all the season.

  10. I liked the episode very much. What most impressed me was the balance, the fairness of screen time for the team. The red herrings were great too.
Well done. Maybe Sharon needs to write all the episodes, or at least the big special ones. She seems to have a handle on the personalities better than some of the other writers.

  11. I thought this was one of the best episodes in a while. As for JJ, I really don't get why so many of you have a problem with her. I for one don't feel like she's had any more scenes than any of the other characters since AJ Cook's return. Personally I thought episode 200 was one of the best episodes ever.

    1. With all due respect Susie just the milestone episode alone had JJ getting 27 minutes of screen time while Morgan and Reid didn't even get a lousy 5 minutes.Shortly after that there was another episode where one of the scenes, among the many she was given, lasted at least 4 minutes. So that one scene alone was equal to Reid and Morgans entire screen time of "200". IMO "200" was a blatant slap in the face to the other long time characters as well as their fans.

    2. I agree Debra. It was not only an epically bad episode it was an insult to the long time cast and the the fans as it purported to be a special celebratory event yet the main cast and the core of the show were completely missing. Shame on the showrunner! That was the final nail in the coffin as far as my liking for JJ is concerned. Apologies to everyone for going off topic - to be fair, JJ was acceptable in this latest episode but I will never recover my liking for the character.

    3. Mary, I would also add, shame on the writer of that awful episode, but most of all shame on CBS for signing off on that travesty of an episode. For me '200' was the straw that broke the camel's back where JJ is concerned. I also agree that they seem to be toning her down a bit, unfortunately it hasn't really changed my feelings towards her, but hopefully it's at least making the show a bit more enjoyable for some other folks.

The funny thing is I probably could have gotten over the fact that JJ was given this milestone episode even though I felt, and still do, that she in no way merited it. I also might have even been able to look past the ridiculously implausible story line JJ was given. If only Rick Dunkle had made the same effort that Sharon Lee Watson did with this episode as far as balancing the screen time when he wrote '200'. But instead we ended up with 90% JJ, 10% other cast members. Again maybe it wouldn't have been as big of an issue with me if it had been just an ordinary episode, but it wasn't, It was a huge milestone episode. And what are the odds CM will ever see another one of those.

  12. one thing I didn't like is how Hotchner thought the witness didn't want to speak to Commander Reardon because she was black and she was a woman. when it was clear he kept looking at her metals. I would prefer if he would have said " no it's because you are military". The crash sites was way to close when Reid said the plane broke up before impact. the parts would have been further apart. I know it just a show. :)

  13. This was a good episode, lots of the team. I'm getting used to JJ and Morgan ALWAYS interviewing victims now. Don't like it, but am used to it.

What I really loved was how big a part Rossi got. First time in a while he's participated in an arrest.

But something was off. I'm not sure if I can pinpoint it. Sharon does have a very firm grip on the characters but something about the case just wasn't the best it could be.

I loved Kate and Reid together.

    1. i don't like Kate and Reid together.

    2. Do you mean paired together, as in Kate/Reid?
Or do you mean you didn't like the scene?
I meant the scene. I do like them paired together, but what I was talking about was the scene.

      Delete
  14. Carrroll - May I ask why? I thought they worked well together. His mind is useful to help her understand the profiling of a case such as this... As she is 'new' to the team having her paired with and 'learning' from all of them can only help her in the long run...

    ReplyDelete
  15. pairing her mostly with Reid and Rossi, isn't going to make her a big favor, They did that To Alex Blake, We need to see a team, and enjoy the team chemistry. would be nice to watch female characters chemistry also,: JJ/Garcia/Callahan.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. They've paired her with Rossi, Morgan, JJ Hotch and Reid so far.... I think they are actually doing very well introducing Callahan as an all around character rather then one who can really only work with one or two like Blake was.... Blake worked best with Rossi and Reid...
