‘Criminal Minds’ Stars Close Deals To Return, Series RENEWED For 9th SEASON

DEADLINE EXCLUSIVE: After a week of intense negotiations, a couple of deadlines and best and final offers, Criminal Minds leads Thomas Gibson and Joe Mantegna and co-stars Shemar Moore, Kirsten Vangsness and A.J. Cook have all signed new two-year deals to continue on the veteran CBS crime drama.

With the five on board and Criminal Minds showrunner Erica Messer signing a new deal last week, I've learned that CBS has proceeded with a ninth season renewal for the show.

  2. I kinda figured this would happen, no way would Kristen and AJ leave the show for those who thought they would because they didn't sign there contracts because of negotiations. Also I am really happy it was renewed the show still gets high ratings and has a group following. (much like NCIS and CSI which both shows have lasted for a while)

  5. What about JT? She hasn't got a new deal...

  6. JT has the option to return, she signed a two year contract which CBS can uphold for season 9, same as MGG.

They will both have to renew at end of season 9 if the show continues for a tenth season.

  8. CBS released it's fall schedule today and I'm very happy to say it's Wednesday night schedule remains intacted.

It really doesn't surprise me at all that they didn't move CM.In fact I'd have been surprised if they had moved it.Seeing that CM is Wednesday nights #1 drama.

I know some people were predicting it'd move to either Fridays or Sundays bc of the decline in the ratings. These people seemed to ignore the fact that the other dramas on CBS were also down in the ratings. Even the very popular NCIS experienced a ratings decline.
