CMRT Visits Alaska! - The Final Part

These are the last of our pictures from "Alaska". Hope you have enjoyed them. It was fantastic to watch our wonderful cast and crew work that day.

The episode entitled Exit Wounds (written by Rick Dunkle) airs this Wednesday.
Please be sure to tune in.





Shemar Moore joined the set for the night shoot. He graciously took pictures and signed autographs for a good half-hour before getting to work.

For the night shoot, they moved to this small lot. Unfortunately there wasn't enough space for onlookers so we didn't get a chance to take any pictures. In the background the cast is assembling with the writer and director to discuss this scene in which they are investigating a dead body found in this lot. In this scene are Thomas Gibson, Paget Brewster, Shemar Moore, Matthew Gray Gubler, and Joe Mantegna.

We would have loved to stay and get some more photos but the temps were in the low-30's and it was time to call it a night and head home.

The team in jeans and fleece, Reid's purple scarf all come out in the "Alaska" setting. Rumor I heard around the set was that they are going to CGI in some snow. Not sure if that is true or not, I guess we'll all just have to tune in to find out for sure.

The production team allowed visitors to gather around the shoot, even to watch the monitors. The production assistants were very patient as they assured the gathering crowd didn't interfere with filming. Kids were entralled by the process and many sported T-shirts and sweatshirts signed by the cast and production team, several with doodles that Matthew had drawn on them.

If you've never seen a TV show being filmed it is a long process where they film the same scene over and over again from different angles. I am happy to report our favorite cast did splendidly and endured the very cool weather without so much as a grumble.

CMRT Visits Alaska! Part 1

Criminal Minds recently shot part of episode 5.21 Exit Wounds in Frazier Park, CA. This episode takes place in the fictional city of Franklin, Alaska and the show needed a mountain locale to pose as the Alaskan town. CMRT paid a visit to the set on April 01, 2010 and took a few shots which we will gladly share with you.

The team was there filming a scene in front of the local sheriff's office (actually the Frazier Park newspaper office). Present were Thomas Gibson, AJ Cook, Joe Mantegna, Matthew Gray Gubler and guest star Wings Hauser as Sheriff Rhodes.
