  1. 9x13 had great balance between killer's story and Harrison Scott's story. Liked that. Jon Gries did an excellent job as Walsh. I really felt bad for him. Murder is murder i know but i didn't feel bad for his victims (except last man i guess).

Already in "The Fallen" episode i loved Rossi's conversations with Scott..same goes for this episode. Need to watch those episodes in a row.
I'm so glad that this episode ended for Harrison Scott as it did.I hoped that. And i cried so much. :)

Ending wasn't a surprise..i think all (or almost all) new that, this was going to happen. Can't wait to see 200th episode!! Frustrating that we have to wait. :D

  2. Well directed but not much suspense and drama. It was predictable that Harrison's son would forgive him at the end and also that the unsub would kill himself. I like to be on the edge of my seat and that feeling wasn't in this episode. The JJ story? One big yawn. I can't wait for 200 to be behind us and the show gets back to being Criminal Minds.

    1. I guess your not a JJ fan - I think it's about time she gets an episode like this one. The last episode she had was when they let her go !!

    2. That's not entirely correct. She had the two part finale to Season 7 and has been forefront in many episodes since. And no, I am not a fan any more - I liked the character before she returned. Plus this storyline is so improbable and so not suitable for the 200th episode.

    3. Than why don't you go bowling that night and return the next week. The show is everybody and it's a shame that some fans don't see it that way .Enjoy bowling !!!!

    4. Unfortunately I am a true fan from Day One, Series One and however painful it may be, I still have to watch! I don't like new JJ or this improbable storyline but will watch in case there is a glimmer of what Criminal Minds should be.CM's unique appeal was the fine balance of criminal profiling with a touch of personal drama. This storyline would appear to be heavily drama and have lost the core of the show, I may be wrong despite JJ! If I am I will stand up and say so. I'm still entitled to air my misgivings. And I don't like bowling!!

  3. I liked 9x13. Rossi is such a stand up guy. I really liked the scene between Rossi and Hotch in the beginning. Both stories did hold my interest but they were predictable. I LOVED the ending with JJ getting kidnapped and I am so looking forward to 200! I'm just hoping that there is not too much crammed into one hour. (personally wish it was a 2 hour special). I hate that we must wait 2 weeks before the next episode but I guess the anticipation will be fun!! I feel like after nine years we have really come to care about these people and so it fun to dive into some personal stuff with all of them. I can't wait to see JJ vulnerable and have the team figure out a way to rescue her.I love LOVE this show!

  5. ITA with my online friends who say this is basically a rehash of the Prentiss spy arc.The only difference is that Emily and JJ have switched places.I also agree with Mary that this storyline has nothing to do with the concept of what CM and it's characters are suppose to be about.

I can no longer stand JJ and greatly regret ever having been part of the fan backlash that bought her back. And if they had to give her this milestone episodes, which I personally don't think her character merited, they could've at least given her a story line that fit better with the show's format.

I do know that EM use to write for the show Alias and I'm convinced it's why we sometimes get story lines like the one we got for Prentiss and now JJ. The problem with that is both those shows have concepts that are completely different from each other. Therefore imo,a story line that would've seemed perfectly plausible for Alias doesn't seem so plausible when it comes to CM.

  6. I LOVED THE ENDING WITH JJ!!... i'm looking forward to watch the next episode!, can't wait to see the promo!... I like this kind of storylines (200th's). I don't care about what other people say about JJ's changes and all that stuff, she still being my favorite! it's great that we will know more about her and that we, the big JJ's fans will have this episode like other fans have had an episode of their favorite characters. Thanks EM!

  7. I will record it, so I can skip all the annoying parts, as I do lately. I am not interested in JJ and any of this storyline, so that will be wasted time for me. In addition, if you take into consideration all the people Erica Messer put into this 42 minutes episode, I bet it will be anything but representative of the essence of this show. Probably the screen time will be invested in the unsub, a lot of Cruz and JJ, some about Will/Henry, Garcia/Kevin, even Aderson will be there, and of course we will get to see some scenes with Emily, and everybody else (aka the BAU team) will end up looking like guest stars who get paid to say their lines as fast as they can so they won't take much space. In the end, I will probably be over what's worthy of this episode in about ten minutes or less, and then hopefully I will be able to enjoy some episodes about criminal minds and profiling, instead of a show about spies, undercover missions and super secret government missions. After all, we all know JJ is going to be ok, so why should I will be hooked on this story?

  8. "and then hopefully I will be able to enjoy some episodes about criminal minds and profiling, instead of a show about spies, undercover missions and super secret missions"

That would be nice indeed, but unfortunately unless EM gets over her "Alias" fixation I wouldn't count on there not being anymore episodes likes this one. Let's see first Emily and now JJ. Hmm I wonder which team member is next.

    1. Well, since Messer is running the show, it has to be Morgan...

  9. I agree with Debra and Ms Fabiana. And when you lay out all the spoilers and photos released about this episode and given that it is a 42 minute show, we can pretty well work out almost all of it and it is not going to be Criminal Minds but some hybrid show like those in the Shonda stable, We have had some promising episodes in Season 9 - notably "Final Shot" which was real CM and a breath of fresh air, but these improbable spy stories just do not fit. I never bought into the premise that a media liaison in the FBI was forced into the State Department for overseas undercover work - logically if they were going to pressgang someone out of the BAU it would have been someone like Reid with his genius, memory and language skills. Oh well, let's just get this out of the way but I am so disappointed even before viewing it that it is a sop to the younger viewer and not a celebration of 200 episodes of team profiling.

    1. So true... One thing that got me hooked with this show was the fact that characters looked and act as real people in a rather odd job. At that time I never heard of profilers. They made occasional mistakes, and they had their faults and virtues. Then, at one point they started changing them, and Garcia transformed from a nice tech girl to an obnoxious super hacker hired by the FBi despite being a criminal because she is now a "genius". Morgan was supposed to amaze the bosses with his team leader skills while replacing Hotch, and then he was the next in line to replace the annoying woman that was killed in lo-fi at the New York division, but then it was never replaced. Prentiss was super interesting because of her personality and background, but then they decided to transform her into a super spy that of course now works for the Interpol since she is so good they were waiting for her to take a job offer. The position of the pentagon went to JJ, and that was just laughable. If she decided to change jobs because she wanted more time with her child, I would bought that, but I can't believe the bosses were so attentive to her job sorting files and talking to the press, that they though she was so important to work there in a super mission we will finally see on February. Reid had an angsty background, and during the last seasons they tried to change that too, inventing a nice time at high school due to his "abilities to read basketball strategies" (?), and then they invented an aunt (Ethek) that apparently criticises his hair, so they may be close. Given the fact that he was a genius and more mature when he was younger, I would say that Prentiss was right: "you don't hear that much about child prodigies once they grow up. In fact, most of them turn out average", and Dr Spencer Reid will continue having a desk in the communal room (no office for him, like, ever), he will continue living on a crapy apartment and he better not lose his position at the BAU, because chances are he got that job by pure influences and if he ever lose it the FBI won't hire him again. Of course, not a single offer from any other department, agency, university... He may try some luck at a coffee shop, maybe? And finally Hotch: he's been stuck in that job since day one, with a little 'vacation' when Strauss considered he was such a bad unit chief she decided Morgan excelled at that job. Bt now that I think about it, maybe Strauss was right: a team composed by a super hacker, a great agent with team leader skills, a super spy, and a super liaison should have worked a lot better. No wonder Hotch never smiles. He is slowly being erased from the show.
