  1. I liked both episodes again, after Zuzwang there was a string of great episodes. I mean, in both these episodes there were issues and I would nit pick, if I could be bothered, but I thought the two episodes were enjoyable.

I'd watch them both again. They weren't the best of the season but they weren't the worst and were well above average and entertaining.

If I had to chose, I preferred Carbon Copy. there were little things like leaving the medication in the interrogation room which annoyed me, but I liked the pace of the episode and the amount of team. I did think that this episode would push forward the Replicator arc and so was a little disappointed when it didn't. It ended great and the team actually seemed concerned about the fact they had a stalker, then nope, nada, not even that much mentioning about a randomer taking pics of the whole until Strauss' demise in the finale.

But Carbon Copy was a good episode, had an interesting premise and a good supporting cast, the team were good and yes, I would have preferred to have seen the Replicator effect the team more like in this episode but hey, its over with now.

    Also

I LOVE SCOTT GRIMES... that is all.

  2. Two very good episodes but not great although there was the potential for that.
"Broken" was a good episode dealing with very sensitive issues. There were a lot of very creepy people in this and the conversion camp really grossed me out. I thought it was handled very well - I especially liked the ending with the music playing over the shutdown of the camp.
I liked that Reid connected the meaning of the watches - finally in S8 they have returned to having Reid see patterns and solve puzzles instead of just rattling off random information as they did in the previous 2 seasons.
I liked seeing Blake and JJ working as a team - that doesn't happen often and again JJ worked better with Blake - as she does with the others - than she does with Morgan. They really need to stop pairing up JJ and Morgan so much as the chemistry is non existant.
At the end was that clear link to Blake in the Replicator arc which I didn't appreciate first time round. Everyone at the time was so convinced that it was going to be someone we had seen before that I at least did not see the close link to Blake. I think that was in the end the biggest disappointment with the Replicator as I think it would have had so much more impact if we had been able to tie it into events we had already seen.
On a purely fangirly note - Reid in that black cardigan was scrumptious.

Carbon Copy could have been outstanding but for two huge issues. It was gripping, fast moving and set up the Replicator storyline perfectly. However, it was ruined for me with the medicine incident. Leaving someone in custody who had suffered a major depressive episode in the past with a full bottle of meds was totally unbelievable. It would not have happened end of story. And if it had, everyone involved would have been disciplined or fired. That totally ruined it for me - a huge mistake on the production side. Secondly, they set up the Replicator with this huge tense ending and then .....nothing much till the final episodes. If only they had aired this episode much closer to the end - or even made it part of the 2 part finale because let's face it, Brothers Hotchner had very little connection with the Replicator storyline. Such a shame as otherwise Carbon Copy had the makings of a superb episode.Scott Grimes was pretty good in this. I loved the angry detective and Rossi asking if he needed a hug - Rossi is a total legend. And Yay! We had a rare Anderson sighting. I didn't like Strauss trying to make amends and be nice - I think the route they took her down was a shame as she was great as the bitchy antagonist for the team and I wish they had kept her as that. It will be interesting to see how the new section chief shapes up but I hope they keep the back story with JJ to a minimum because honestly I couldn't care less about her time at the Pentagon and would rather they concentrated on the cases and the profiling.
Overall though, two good episodes that I enjoyed watching again even though I was screaming at the TV over the gaff over leaving the meds with the prisoner.

  3. I agree that Carbon C. would have been a much better lead into the last ep. Brother's Hotchner would have been better to stand alone. Even Zugswang would have been better as the first ep. That entire finale just didn't come together as expected so a disappointment for me. I do notice that the poll voters thought otherwise of the Replicator.
