TVGuide Criminal Minds' Matthew Gray Gubler Directs "Eerily Cerebral" Episode SPOILER

picture @CM_Setreport

by Joyce Eng

Sorry, Matthew Gray Gubler fans. The Criminal Minds star has found his perfect match in show writer Sharon Lee Watson — professionally at least.

"She is like my sister," he tells TVGuide.com of Watson, who wrote Wednesday's episode, which Gubler directed. "She's new writer this year and I didn't really know her that well at first, but she and I have gotten so close the last few months, and now we're like the same person." to read more TVGuide

Criminal Minds, The Composers: Heathridge Manor

We were excited to once again collaborate with Criminal Mind's Co-star Matthew Gray Gubler who directed this episode. When the BAU travels to Oregon to investigate the ritualistic murders of young women, they discover more than they could have ever imagined. This episode stars Robert Englund (Freddy vs.Jason) and Madeleine Martin (Californication). We worked very closely with Matthew, who expressed greatly that each character needed their own voice. He wanted a cinematic vibe, using less sound design and more eerie and haunting music that would evolve into its own character in the episode.   To read more go to CBS

Criminal Minds: Scary stories a cold reality

ERICA THOMPSON

The number of serial killers running amok on United States crime shows can seem a little far-fetched from our relatively quiet New Zealand shores.

But it's a different story on the other side of the world.

In the same week The Dominion Post visited the Los Angeles home of Criminal Minds, the chilling TV One drama about a team of profilers investigating violent crimes, the police were warning the public about a real serial killer on the loose in Orange County. The suspect had already murdered four people and was expected to strike again.

"Unfortunately, it's not that far from the truth," says Criminal Minds star Thomas Gibson, who plays Hotch, of the sometimes thin line between fact and fiction on the show, which is set inside the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit.

"There was a statistic that Matthew [Gray Gubler's] character [Reid] came up with that at any given moment they think there are dozens and dozens [of serial killers] operating in the US alone."
