Good grief, they so do NOT need to replace Prentiss.
ReplyDeleteThere's a void ? Well, they were attached to Prentiss as a character so for them to feel a void when planing season 8 is normal.
But to imply that there's a void that needs to be filled by someone else....they don't have enough time to focus on all the characters (and no, this isn't a complaint about x or y not getting enough screen time) and they want to bring in someone new ? This late in the game ?
This team always functioned with five profilers, so now we still have five profilers and JJ's old work load is more or less spread among the team members....just leave things the way they are .
Please, just concentrate on the six remaining team members !!!
Totally agree with everything you said! They do NOT need another character and certainly not another profiler. They do not even have enough to write for five profilers.
ReplyDeletei agree - they need to focus on the ensemble cast that they already have instead of trying to shoehorn another character in.
ReplyDeleteconsidering the fact that the show has become a cheesy-bad romance novel as of late, i worry when messer gets all excited about bringing on another female character JUST TO HAVE another female character. there isn't enough time as it is for the characters that are already there.
they need to concentrate on returning to the focus of the show: highly-intelligent profilers who track down serial killers.

I don't think it is a good idea to replace a beloved character after 6 years. Whoever might come as a replacement migt have a hard time and it might be Rachel Nichols story all over again. Plus since I am a huge PB fan, I don't think she is replaceable:)
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with Dreis and everybody else, they DO NOT need to replace Prentiss. Let's focus on the remaining cast. Don't want to live the Seaver fiasco all over again!!!

ReplyDelete5 profiler and 1 tech freak makes a 6-man-band. An even number and I to believe a group should've an uneven number. It's tricky, a replacement for Prentiss after so many years not an easy task. And as I so far noticed this season, they've difficulties to write equally dialogues in 42 min for all of them. IMO. I got their need to give JJ lots of on-screen proofs that she became a valued profiler but on the other hand this caused shortening on-screen time for other team mates. Hey, what you guys think of, if they bring back a media liaison instead another profiler?
