On the one hand, I'm really glad to see that Alex is a competent and mature woman, someone who has something to offer to the team.
On the other hand, I have really missed seeing Reid doing linguistic profiles. He hasn't done that in a long time and it was one of his specialties. I didn't want him to have to share that with someone else...
That they know each other and worked together before means that Reid shouldn't have problems with working with her on permanent basis and that they might have a friendly connection of some sort. I'm just guessing of course but perhaps this is how they will introduce her character during the premiere; Reid will come to her for an advice or just to throw his ideas at someone whom he might consider as someone more experienced.
It would also be nice if Alex was brought on board as someone whom Reid suggested to Hotch and/or Rossi because it would show that Reid isn't just a simple follower who has no saying in regards of what's going on the team but that his no cases-related opinions actually matter to the others, at the very least matter to Hotch and/or Rossi.
It's just an innocent idea which I doubt the writers are going to use. Most probably it would end as 'Reid guess who is coming on board'...
I still mourn Prentiss in a certain way Not crazy about the new broad. Prentiss & Hotch are supposed to * have a date*> to sort things out. Morgan is the only one who knows about Prentiss' decision. In all fairness & logic> I hope we see this *date*. Hotch as Unit Chief & friend is owed this by Prentiss & the writers. & we are too. Why is she leaving???... Fast dismissal, in a hurry> there are no excuses. On S7 everything was fastly mopped up to get things smooth & workable. How will Reid react? Abandonned again> Morgan knows, he & the others don't. It's easy to dismiss time & logics on TV > The Bau Team & we the people deserve fair treatment.
Bodes well that she already has her own successful career in a difficult field, and being a University level teacher only adds to it.
All of it leads me to think that she must have a strong personality, a good brain, and more than enough credentials and skills, thus thinking of her as a member of the BAU isn't any stretch of the imagination.
Good choices so far (NO need to push her down our throats!), now hoping they manage to integrate her in the team in an interesting way to seal the deal with me!
Was writing my own comment, have touched the key that I shouldn't... and once back on the blog I get to read Sir Elyan comment. Goobsmaked I'm left because what I was writing was nearly exactly the same! :D
So yep, read that comment to know what I think and then let me add: Soooooooooooooo glad to read this bit from Erica "When you get your heroes involved romantically, it just changes the show so much. I feel pretty strongly about that as a rule." IMO was about time they put their collective feet down and made crystal clear their stance on this matter! *clap* *clap* *clap*
To the Anonymous post just over Sir Elyan's one: - No, most of us don't want to see that "date" because most of us aren't H/P shippers; and no, we don't need to see it because all of us already know where she's going and why (Paget's reasons and Emily's ones). - And her dismissal by any means was hurried up, all of us that were paying attention were able to see that decision coming from the clues they left for several episodes previous to the finale, and believe me, if somebody wasn't surprised by it, was Hotch!
September can't come soon enough, but I'll settle for them starting filming the season in several days IF we get frequent glimpses from the set! :D
i don't understand why prentis left AGAIN. i loved her character. and i am not happy about some new random lady being brought in. i'm really not. what if she destroys the show? i mean i will watch it either way, but what if she is just so terrible that people stop watching, the ratings start to fall, and the show gets cancelled? all because of her? i remember how much people hated the blonde girl who sort of replaced prentis at the end of season 6, ashley or whatever. people HATED her (i didn't, i thought she was nice). just like they hated that annoying, bitchy (but still very pretty) black girl who ended up replacing JJ. i didn't like her at all. i know i'm rambling, but i do not want my favorite show being ruined by this random lady. i don't like the idea. it's one thing to bring in a new character in the first seasons, but in season 8??? why bother??? i have a bad feeling about this lady. i don't like her. already i don't like her. she's got some big shoes to fill, and she probably will never be able to.
Respectful opinions, and constructive disagreement is welcomed, but insulting/foul-mouthed, malicious, or just plain disrespectful comments towards anyone are not, and will be removed.

Right now I'm on the fence.

I guess we'll see what happens.
That's fine by me.

Sounds good!
